Non-Profit Serving People with Disabilities Launches Document Imaging Business

Manassas, Va. (October 8, 2019) – Didlake Inc., a Virginia-based non-profit that connects people with disabilities to employment, education and inclusive opportunities throughout the National Capital region, today announced the launch of Didlake Document Imaging at 8472 Kao Circle in Manassas.

For over 20 years Didlake has been involved in file conversion, tracing its roots back to microfilm. Over the decades that experience has moved into digital conversion services for federal and state customers. Didlake is now expanding that service to businesses through Didlake Document Imaging, a division of Didlake, Inc. Didlake Document Imaging is fulfilling Didlake’s mission by employing people with varying abilities who will receive valuable job training and work experience.

“We’re gaining traction with the additional new business rolling into our new home at 8472 Kao Circle in Manassas.  We just signed on a local association and current business owner adding to the law firm and a local not-for-profit agency we’ve been working with for some time,” said Didlake Director of Business Development, Valerie Spencer.

Document Imaging provides excellent job opportunities for people with disabilities in our community. For example, currently 1 in 59 children are diagnosed with autism. Our community needs to be engaged in creating job opportunities and supportive work environments for individuals on the spectrum and people with disabilities at large. Prepping, scanning, and indexing requires attention to detail and concentration; traits that are often complementary to the strengths of individuals with developmental disabilities including autism.

“We provide a simple, secure, cost-effective transition from physical to digital files while creating job opportunities that enrich the lives of people with disabilities”, said Didlake Document Imaging Business Manager, Steve Fuhrman.

Didlake will celebrate a ribbon-cutting for Didlake Document Imaging and National Disability Employment Awareness Month with the Prince William Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, October 23rd at 8:30 a.m. With the official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:00 a.m. Chamber members, as well as members of the community, are invited to attend the event.
